Accounts Officer

Job No: ADC99
Location: Ashburton

What the job involves

If tidy spreadsheets make your heart sing and reconciling accounts feels like winning a small (but meaningful) life victory, we’ve got the perfect role for you.

As our Accounts Officer, you’ll be a crucial part of our Finance team, diving into:

  • Accounts payable & receivable
  • Daily bank statement processing
  • Creditor account reconciliations
  • Water management invoicing
  • TechOne system wizardry (don’t worry, capes optional)

You’ll be the steady hand ensuring invoices are matched, coded, processed, authorised, reconciled, receipted, and beautifully balanced. Accuracy lovers, this is your moment.

This is a fixed term opportunity covering parental leave through to February 2027.

For more information on the role view the position description here.

Who we are looking for

You’re someone who:

  • Notices the little things (yes, even that tiny unmatched line item)
  • Thrives on structure, process, and meeting deadlines
  • Works at pace without trading away quality
  • Provides warm, helpful service to both colleagues and customers
  • Loves being part of a team that collaborates and supports each other
  • Has knowledge of accounting processes
  • Ideally has experience with ERP systems (TechOne users, please step forward)

Basically: methodical, motivated, detail‑obsessed (in a charming way), and ready to keep our finance operations flowing smoothly.

What we can offer you

This fixed‑term role is packed with plenty of good stuff:

  • A supportive, down‑to‑earth Finance team that actually enjoys working together.
  • A busy, hands‑on role where you’ll sharpen your accounting skills and build confidence fast.
  • A workplace that’s friendly, relaxed and big on teamwork, not ego.
  • The chance to make a real impact in how we deliver services to our community.
  • A great environment to grow, learn, and get stuck into meaningful mahi.
