Parking Officer

Job No: ADC93
Location: New Zealand

  • Get fit in the outdoors whilst getting paid to do it!
  • Become part of an organisation which delivers to one of New Zealand’s fastest growing and thriving communities.
  • Step into an active, people-focused role where no two days feel the same.

What the job involves

If you love a job where every day feels a little different, you’ll fit right in. This is an active, on-the-go role where you help keep our CBD accessible by monitoring parking and applying legislation and bylaws in a fair, friendly, and professional way.

You’ll also be a walking welcome sign—helping visitors and locals with information, directions, and good vibes as an ambassador for our District.

This is a 20 hours per week position, working 4 hours each day, across Monday to Friday.

Who we are looking for

Someone who:

  • Loves getting their steps in and prefers sunshine to a swivel chair
  • Is friendly, confident, and great with people
  • Communicates clearly and manages time like a pro
  • Brings a customer‑first mindset
  • Has basic fitness and computer skills
  • Can rotate weekly between morning (9am–1pm) and afternoon (1pm–5pm) shifts

If you’re the type who prefers a pair of comfy walking shoes over a desk chair—this could be your perfect fit.

What we can offer you

This role offers the chance to contribute to a community you know and care about, supported by a workplace that values connection, teamwork, and making a real difference close to home.

Here’s what you’ll enjoy as part of our crew:

  • Professional development opportunities that support your career growth right here in the district
  • Annual performance and remuneration reviews so your contribution is recognised
  • Health and wellness benefits to help you feel your best
  • Service recognition benefits that celebrate your commitment
  • Birthday leave (because you deserve a day!) and options to purchase additional leave
  • A sociable, family-friendly work environment where people know your name
