A bit about the role

Working within our Property team, this is the ideal position for you to use your skills and qualifications. Whether you are performing basic property maintenance duties yourself or using your knowledge to oversee trades people, it is important that you can effectively and efficiently manage your day.

 

It’s also essential that you are able to work and communicate with a range of people as you will be performing ad hoc, after hours or scheduled maintenance work at Council buildings including Te Whare Whakatere - Library and Civic building, Art Gallery and Museum, Elderly Persons Housing and other commercial and residential properties within Council’s property portfolio.

  • A professional self-starter with general skills in a range of trades, who is happy to roll their sleeves up and undertake duties from painting to minor plumbing, cleaning to building maintenance.
  • Someone with an eye for detail who takes pride in their work.
  • A friendly and outgoing personality, with a customer focused attitude which will be second to none.
  • Someone who is well organised, has a can-do attitude and the ability to fit in with an established high performing team.
