What the job involves

Reporting to the Group Manager – Business Support, this new leadership role will provide proactive financial and commercial advice to develop and improve Councils financial accountability. You will give advice at both a management and governance level and deliver large projects on time to ensure we meet all our statutory obligations. You will lead the Business Partnering team to support internal business units, lead the development of annual plans, budgets and financial forecasts. In addition, this team is involved in continuing to improve and implement organisation wide financial systems enhancements. As this is a newly created role, the successful applicant will have a significant opportunity to shape the management and performance reporting needs of the organisation.

Who are we looking for?

  • Tertiary qualified in Accounting or Finance.
  • Chartered Accountant, with current CAANZ registration.
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience in a senior level Business Partnering role, ideally within Local Government.
  •  Experience leading system and process improvement initiatives.
  • A collaborative leader with great communication skills, empowering your team to continuously develop themselves and their positions.
