What the job involves

In this full-time position, you’ll enjoy a varied role ensuring our customers are safe in the pools and the aquatic area is maintained to a high standard. With a team of dedicated lifeguards and pool staff we offer a professional and fun environment that surpasses many other organisations.

 

Our team of Senior Lifeguards lead and support our Lifeguard team on duty, providing direct supervision poolside, whilst overseeing water quality monitoring, health and safety, assisting the Recreation Services Manager with training and development of new and existing Lifeguards, and ensuring a customer lens is applied to all situations to ensure exceptional customer service delivery.

 

This is a 40 hour per week position working the following shifts:

  • Monday to Thursday:   1:00pm – 9:30pm
  • Friday and Saturday:     Rostered Day Off
  • Sunday and Monday:    11:00am – 7:30pm

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, you’ll be an experienced Lifeguard and will hold a Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate and a current first aid certificate. However, if you have a background in supervision of staff, recreation and fitness industry experience or have a genuine passion for water and water safety, then this could be a great opportunity for you. Full training will be provided to the right applicant with ongoing career development opportunities and apprenticeships available.

 

As a Senior Lifeguard you will need to be able to take charge and have the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. You will mentor the younger team members passing on your experience and knowledge in a professional manner; therefore, you need to have strong verbal and written communication skills and be friendly and approachable to all.
