Swim School Assistant

Job No: ADC148
Location: Ashburton

We’re looking for an organised, people-focused Swim School Coordinator to join our team at EA Networks Centre.

This is a hands-on role where no two days will look quite the same. You’ll help coordinate our Swim School programmes, support our instructors, schools and customers, deliver lessons yourself, and help make sure every swimmer receives a safe, consistent and engaging experience.

What you'll be doing

Working alongside our Swim School & Programmes Manager, you’ll help keep our Swim School running smoothly. You’ll:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of our Swim School programmes.
  • Support, coach and encourage our Learn to Swim Instructors on poolside.
  • Deliver engaging lessons and step in to provide cover when needed.
  • Build positive relationships with swimmers, whānau, schools and customers.
  • Help maintain high standards across our programmes and identify opportunities to make things even better.

It’s a great mix of coordination, teaching, customer service and supporting others to succeed.

For more information on this role, please view the position description.

What you'll bring

You don’t need to know everything on day one. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude who is keen to learn and grow.

You’ll be someone who:

  • Is organised and can juggle competing priorities.
  • Communicates confidently and builds positive relationships.
  • Enjoys supporting, encouraging and developing others.
  • Provides great customer service and stays calm when challenges arise.
  • Is a positive team player who’s happy to step up and lend a hand.

Most importantly, you’ll bring a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a genuine desire to help our swimmers and our people succeed.

The hours

This role offers between 32 – 35 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 6.00pm, plus every third Saturday, 8.30am to 12.30pm. When you work the Saturday shift, you’ll have the following Monday rostered off, so you’ll still enjoy two consecutive days off.

What we can offer you

We take care of our team — because happy instructors = happy members.

Here’s what’s in it for you:

  • FREE gym + pool access (yes, free!)
  • Professional development so you can keep levelling up
  • Birthday leave (because you deserve it)
  • Option to purchase extra leave
  • Wellness and recognition benefits
  • A fun, friendly, supportive team that actually enjoys working together

Ready to dive in?

If you’re organised, enjoy working with people and are ready for an opportunity where you can support others while continuing to grow your own skills, we’d love to hear from you. Applications close Sunday 25 October 2026.
